Bringing New Voices to the Table: How Does Nonprofit Board Diversity

Impact Philanthropy, Leadership, and Board Engagement?

Demographic diversity, women’s economic power, and educational achievements are on the rise in the US. This convergence offers the nonprofit sector an unparalleled opportunity to engage new audiences, bring new voices to the table, and involve new talent and leadership. Although gender diversity on nonprofit boards is improving, many remain white, older, and male.

In this AFP-PM gathering, we’ll examine the diversity/impact connection as we discuss:

  • The nonprofit board diversity landscape
  • How diversity relates to
    • Board member engagement
    • Fundraising engagement
    • Advocacy engagement
