Join Taylor Strelevitz and Aud Pleas as they share the organizational vision of the Alaska Humanities Forum as a culturally diverse, economically vibrant, and equitable Alaska where people are engaged, informed, and connected. This vision is only achievable when accessibility is a priority.  Exploring tools and resources for making virtual spaces more accessible for everyone will take up  the first half of the hour. Following that, we will head into breakout rooms to have a conversation about the meaning behind accessibility.

Taylor Strelevitz thrives in a good conversation about how the world works and why we do what we do. For this reason, they love their work at the Alaska Humanities Forum on the Conversation Programs team. Taylor moved to Alaska from the desert where they worked alongside several tribal communities in Indigenous education and cultural revitalization. They currently serve on the board of the abolitionist nonprofit Black & Pink. In their free time they try to keep their garden and pets alive.

Aud Pleas is a media advocate, community organizer and disc jockey with a background in event and major music festival productions. A lifelong Alaskan, residing in Eagle River with over a decade of experience in academia and media, they spend a majority of their time connecting local youth and young adults to resources to help propel their futures. Aud recently completed the Community | Media | Possibility Journovation Fellowship in April with the Alaska Humanities Forum.
