Donor Research for the Rest of Us!

REGISTER

Meet Alaska's two professional philanthropic researchers (members of the Association of Professional Researchers for Advancement.) Together, we can learn some strategies, tips, ethics, and free resources that anyone can use to a) prioritize your leadership-level donor engagement and b) prepare yourself or your volunteer leaders to approach their next significant gift conversation.

Candice Krupa is the Senior Director of Research at the University of Alaska Foundation. Originally from British Columbia, she came to Alaska to play volleyball for UAF, ended up also playing basketball for the 'Nooks, and stayed to make Alaska home. She earned her BA in Art History and Anthropology cum laude and worked in varying research roles before leaving the Museum of the North to join the foundation in 2008. She hopes to give students the same great college experience she received at UA through her work in transformational philanthropy. She lives in Fairbanks with her husband and two kids, who try to spend all their extra time outside, even in the cold!

Kyrstin Floodeen is the Senior Analyst of Philanthropic Research at the University of Alaska Foundation. She began working as a researcher for the Foundation in Anchorage in 2014 after earning her Master's in Library and Information Studies from the University of British Columbia. She previously worked as a librarian in the Anchorage Museum and the Kenai Community Library, German-speaking Park Ranger in Sequoia and Kings Canyon National Park, and in the Annual Fund at Whittman, where she earned her bachelor's degree. She lives in Soldotna with her husband and three young kids, where she works remotely from her corner office -- aka the corner of her living room.
