Signed, Sealed, Delivered: Simple Strategies and Best Practices to Improve Your Next Appeal Letter
Presenter: Eva Terry, CFRE, Development Director, Peace at Home Family Shelter

Even with growth in social media communications and online giving, about 93% of all gifts are still made offline. Traditional direct mail fundraising is far from dead. In fact, it can be one of the most important fundraising tools you have at your disposal (if used properly). This training will introduce Siegfried Vögele’s Dialogue Method to break down common barriers in direct mail fundraising and more effectively connect with donors. We’ll discuss setting up your annual direct mail calendar, using the Pareto Principle to maximize value on personalization, and talk about the importance of readability, connection, and urgency in your direct mail package. You will leave this training with tangible changes you can make to your next mailing to raise more money and do more good work.

Eva Terry is Development Director for Peace at Home Family shelter in Fayetteville, Arkansas. Eva has spent more than a decade working in nonprofit administration serving in organizations that provide vital services and support to survivors of domestic violence and child abuse. She has worked as a full-time professional fundraiser for over 6 years with experience in annual fund development, capital campaigns, grant writing, and major gifts. She holds a BA in Psychology from Columbia College and obtained her Certified Fundraising Executive designation in 2019. Eva lives in Fayetteville with her husband Stephen and their 2 year old daughter Fiona. She does the New York Times crossword puzzle every day with mixed success.
