Summary of presentation -- Financial statements are a critical part of compliance and donor relationships of nonprofit entities.  The financial statements convey a picture of the financial position of the entity and can help tell the story of stewardship and need to donors. This session will include a primer in the basics of reading and understanding nonprofit financial statements, along with key differences from corporate financial statements.  In addition, we will cover key areas where an entity can use financial information to monitor the financial health and future of an organization.  The key learning objective is to equip non-accountants with the confidence to review nonprofit financial statements and discuss key financial items with external stakeholders.
