In my nearly 30 year career, I spent roughly the first half working on the clinical side, working directly with people with disabilities. Then after spending a few years working in the administrative side of museums, I moved into fundraising in 2006 and haven't looked back. I enjoy contributing the mission of an organization in this way. In April of 2019 I started a new role as the Development Officer for the City of Fremont, CA. It's a unique opportunity because I'm raising money both for the robust Human Services Department for the city, but also for a 501(c)(3) affiliated with the city- the Fremont Family Resources Center. I'm thrilled to have this opportunity. I am the second person in this very new position and am lucky enough to have had a predecessor who built a strong foundation on which I can continue to build. In many ways, it's uncharted territory and I look forward to figuring all of this out. I also look forward to borrow knowledge from my fellow AFP members.
