    Job Summary

    The Network and Systems Administrator position supports District-wide philanthropic activities by ensuring the Foundation has the needed strategic constituent information to manage business relationships and the data associated with them.  Responsible for the management of the Raiser's Edge database to include data entry, actions, proposals, queries, exports, reports, prospect development, metrics, dashboards and training. The position is also responsible for providing training and support to all users of the database. Prepares fundraising reports and statistics, and performs routine analysis. Demonstrates a commitment to customer service excellence, innovation and integrity in the performance of job duties.

    Essential Functions

    50% - Database Management

    • Responsible for implementation, execution and management of donor database Blackbaud Raiser's Edge and NetCommunity
    • Supports servers, systems and applications; installs configures analyzes, debugs, maintains and troubleshoots software and/or hardware
    • Works with vendors to diagnose problems
    • Performs intake, evaluation, triage and coordination of requests for data and information
    • Conducts data imports and exports to ensure integration across multiple platforms
    • Ensure database integrity by conducting regular audits of data and recommend measures to continually improve quality and accuracy of data
    • Performs database system maintenance, annual data cleansing, and alumni/employee imports
    • Ensures data security
    • Analyzes new technologies for potential applications; makes recommendations regarding operating software and system selections
    • Researches industry standards, trends, best practices and emerging technologies and makes recommendations for implementation
    • Assists with the development, review, modification and implementation of forms, policies and procedures
    • Manages forms and surveys through Formsite
    • Subject matter expert on Raiser's Edge database

    30% - Development Support

    • Responsible for creating queries to analyze performance of various fundraising initiatives
    • Design, generate and manage effective development reports, metrics and dashboards
    • Build and update standard and customized queries, exports and reports to assist with development activity and donor stewardship
    • Develop, prepare and run reports for various presentations and meetings

    10% - Training and Support

    • Provides training for Raiser's Edge users including data entry protocols, actions, prospect identification, linking proposals and how to run queries and reports
    • Assists in the development, documentation, maintenance and training of programming standards, policies, procedures, data files and records
    • Assists with creating workshop and training materials; conducts training; provides assistance to participants

    10% - Support Other Business Functions

    • Maintain Foundation Website
    • Conduct research and analyze data to provide guidance of metrics for tracking overall giving
    • Maintain the KPI's and dashboard metrics
    • Support tracking, list development, marketing and other essential activity to support the Heroes of Education event fundraiser
    • Proactively participate in team and departmental meetings, providing updates on activities and suggestions for how database and operations processes can be improved

    Minimum Qualifications

    Bachelor's Degree from a regionally accredited institution in information technology or any related field and one (1) year of experience designing, configuring and installing hardware and software, training users and maintaining servers and data communication equipment.


    Associates Degree and three (3) years of experience designing, configuring and installing hardware and software, training users and maintaining servers and data communication equipment.


    High School Diploma/GED and five (5) years of experience designing, configuring and installing hardware and software, training users and maintaining servers and data communication equipment.

    Desired Qualifications

    A.  Five (5) or more years of experience as a Database Specialist or Database Administrator

    B. Three (3) or more years working in higher education or non-profit organization

    C. Three (3) or more years of experience using Blackbaud products i.e., Raiser's Edge and/or Financial Edge)

    D. Two (2) or more years of experience providing customer service to diverse populations of database users

    E.  Experience in conducting training and workshops in-person and electronically for small to large group settings
