Building Equity and Inclusion Into Storytelling

When:  Oct 6, 2021 from 11:30 AM to 01:30 PM (ARIZONA)

The health and safety of our guests is AFP Greater Arizona's highest priority.  In adherence to recommended CDC guidelines, we ask that guests wear face coverings at all times except while eating and drinking, regardless of vaccination status.  AFP takes Covid seriously and works with venues with a strict sanitation policy in place in order to minimize physical interactions.

Building Equity and Inclusion Into Storytelling

Telling stories is at the core of engaging our supporters in the mission of our organizations. When we uplift these experiences, we have a special opportunity to engage our supporters in the stories of the communities we serve and uplift and honor those experiences. When we mine for these stories though, are we doing it in ways that uplift and don't cause unintentional harm?  Sharing these authentic stories means taking on the responsibility of handling them with the care and integrity needed to protect the communities whose stories we are choosing to share.

Join us for an engaging panel discussion to learn more about inclusive and equitable ways to engage in community-centered storytelling. This workshop is a great opportunity for not only development staff but marketing, programs and leadership.

Panelists:
