The (Power) Struggle is Real: Navigating Power Dynamics with Upper Management & Donors

When:  Feb 12, 2020 from 08:00 AM to 10:00 AM (ET)
Associated with  AFP DE, Brandywine Chapter

A special program for AFP Emerging Professionals

8 - 8:30 a.m. Networking and Coffee
8:30 - 10 a.m. Panel and Discussion

About this Program:

Do you get treated as "the kid" by donors and management rather than a part of the development team simply because of your age or level of experience? Are your ideas not taken seriously because "that's not the way we do things"? These examples of disrespect, and many others, are very common in the emerging professionals circles. While it is a very difficult cultural issue to fix, we hope that it will be helpful to hear from others as to how they overcame this ageism and addressed these issues within their organizations.

We are excited to announce that our presenting panelists will be:

  • Yolanda Rushdan, Program Associate, Delaware Community Foundation
  • Daniel Condoluci-Smith, Director of Philanthropy, Delaware Humane Association
  • Meredith Mitchell McAloon, Senior Associate Director of Bryn Mawr Fund Marketing, Bryn Mawr College

Join AFP Emerging Professionals for a discussion on navigating power and age dynamics in the workplace and with donors. Panelists will be prepared with topics, but we encourage participants to send in their own questions. We will leave time for open discussions and additional questions as well.

There is no charge to attend. Please RSVP to Emily Cwyk at emily.cwyk@gmail.com by February 10.
