Not every major donor gives for the same reason — and the most successful fundraisers know how to tell the difference. Drawing on the research-backed framework from The Seven Faces of Philanthropy, this workshop profiles seven distinct donor types — from the Communitarian to the Altruist to the Dynast — and what motivates each of them to give. You'll leave with practical strategies for tailoring your conversations, your ask, and your written materials to connect with what matters most to each individual donor.

By the end of this session, participants know how to:

  • Identify the seven major donor types from The Seven Faces of Philanthropy framework and understand what motivates each of them to give.
  • Develop strategies for tailoring your solicitation approach and donor conversations to align with individual donor motivations.
  • Adapt your organization's written materials to better reflect the interests and values of each donor type.
