This session will discuss capital fundraising and how it fits into a comprehensive development program. Learn the impact of capital fundraising as it relates to your organization’s mission and strategic goals. Lean what criteria must be met before undertaking capital fundraising and what steps must be taken to develop a successful capital fundraising program. How to determine the scale and scope of your organization’s capital fundraising needs will also be discussed.

About the Presenter

Cam Yorkston founded Yorkston Consulting in 1999 and has 45 years’ experience as an institutional advancement officer and nonprofit management and fundraising consultant. During this time, he has assisted many organizations with their fundraising, communications, governance, and strategic planning programs. Those served include a wide range of non-profits with various missions, including education, health care, youth services, arts and culture, environmental, as well as those focused on Delaware history.

Prior to his work as an independent consultant, Cam served The Tatnall School as Assistant Headmasterfor Advancement and Director of Development for a total of 18 years. He has also held positions asDeputy Director of Public Affairs and Development at Hagley Museum and Library, and Director of Corporate and Foundation Relations at the University of Delaware.

Cam is the founding president of the AFP Brandywine Chapter and has been honored by the chapter with the Fundraising Executive of the Year Award and the Lifetime Achievement Award.
