Jewish Community Foundation of Los Angeles

Dan is Executive Vice President at the Jewish Community Foundation of Los Angeles where he has been employed since 2007. JCFLA is the largest manager of charitable assets for Greater Los Angeles Jewish philanthropists with $1.25 billion in funds. In each of the last four years, The Foundation made grants of $100 plus million to nonprofit organizations.

Dan’s most recent earlier positions included serving as Deputy Director of Development at the Los Angeles Philharmonic Association, Vice President of Development at AJU, Resource Development Director at the American Jewish Committee, and Director of Major Gifts and Planned Giving at Northridge Hospital Foundation.

Dan is an esteemed speaker in the philanthropic community and has served as a faculty member of UCLA Extension, the American Jewish University Not-For-Profit MBA program, and the AJU Rabbinic Management Institute.

Dan holds a Masters Degree in social work from USC and a second Masters Degree in Jewish Communal Service from Hebrew Union College Institute of Jewish Religion. His Bachelors Degress is in Design and Industry from San Francisco State University and he holds a honorary doctorate from HUC-JIR in 2011.

In 2017, Dan received the Fundraiser of the Year Award from the Jewish Communal Professionals of Southern California. Dan has enjoyed a longtime association with AFP-GLAC, having been very active earlier in his career, serving on the board and supporting National Philanthropy Day.
