Virtual Emerging Leaders Event - Young Fundraisers and “Old” Donors – Bridging the Communication Gap

When:  Sep 9, 2021 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM (PT)

How does a millennial or Gen Z fundraiser effectively ask a Boomer for a donor gift? Intergenerational communication can be a challenge. Fortunately, a lot of the behaviors and skills you need to work successfully with donors who are older than you will actually make you an all-round better fundraiser.

Older donors continue to make up the majority of donors, so this talk will help younger fundraisers win over older donors. We’ll discuss what early career fundraisers should know, including the skills, practices and priorities that are important to build relationships across generations of donors. At the end, we’ll also provide a real life example of “the art of the ask”!
