Join Randy Shulman, Vice President for Advancement and External Relations at The Huntington, for a panel discussion with Huntington Advancement colleagues about collaborative, successful Major Gift Fundraising. This interactive session will provide strategies and honest dialogue about successes and near misses. Focus will also center on tips, case studies, and examples of ways to maximize effectiveness and impact. Attendees are encouraged to think about overcoming internal/organizational impediments to a more successful Major Gifts Program.
About our Speaker:
Randy serves as the chief advancement officer. He works closely with and promotes collaboration between the president, senior staff, and governing boards to build relationships and fund operating and strategic initiatives. Randy heads the group responsible for raising over $13 million in operating support annually through annual giving, membership, planned giving, and corporate/foundation support. He also oversees efforts to secure an additional $10-$50 million annually in capital, endowment, and special project funding from individuals, foundations/corporations, and government sources. Responsibilities include staffing the Board Membership, Advancement, and Community Relations Committees.
Randy has a Bachelor of Science degree in urban and regional planning from Cal Poly Pomona and a Master of Public Administration degree from the University of Southern California. Previously, he worked in local government positions in city management, community development, and historic preservation. His community involvement includes serving on Board of Union Station Homeless Services (2008-16), where he served as the Board Chair (2013-15) and is a past Board member of Pasadena Heritage.
He spent 10 summers volunteering in France near Avignon restoring medieval architecture using traditional methods and techniques.
Randy and his wife Mona, also a member of the Huntington staff, reside in Pasadena.
