Navigating the nonprofit sector as a racial, ethnic, and/or gender minority

The lack of diversity across all sectors, from entertainment to tech, continues to be a challenge for racial, ethnic and/or gender minorities. The nonprofit sector is not exempt.

While the nonprofit sector primarily serves communities of color, its leadership is overwhelmingly white with only 20% of leadership positions filled by minorities. As fundraisers, this presents an additional challenge when interacting with a donor pool that has traditionally been white and male.

Micro-aggressions, implicit biases, and lack of cultural awareness are just a few of the hurdles minorities face when pursuing fundraiser positions at nonprofits. How does one navigate this space and gain success when identifying with a minority group?

Join us in a thought provoking, vulnerable, and timely discussion to explore how to navigate the nonprofit sector as a racial, ethnic and/or gender minority.

All are welcome to attend.
