When is doing the right thing not so simple? Join AFP-GLAC for a fascinating and engaging discussion and earn 1 CFRE credit. One of the pillars of AFP is to promote ethical fundraising. October is Ethics Awareness Month so it’s the perfect time to dig into a subject that we don’t think about often enough. We invite you to join us at the Cathedral Center at Our Lady of Angels to start your day with a good breakfast and Nonprofit Ethics: Duties and Challenges Faced by Leadership.  Take advantage of this excellent opportunity to re-engage with fellow AFP members (and keep your organization on the right path).

Kristen Anderson, Attorney at Law

The Law Firm for Non-Profits

“Helping Good People do Good Things”

Kristen Anderson’s passion for working with non-profit organizations began at a young age when she eagerly awaited becoming old enough to volunteer at the local animal shelter. Ever since her first volunteering experience, she has jumped on any opportunity to assist non-profit organizations by donating her time and expertise in any way she can help. Kristen was drawn to The Law Firm for Non-Profits so she could make assisting non-profit organizations her life’s work.

Kristen has a B.S. in Mathematics and a minor in Law and Society from the University of California, San Diego. She attended University of San Diego School of Law where she earned both a J.D. and an LL.M in Taxation Law. Kristen is a member of the State Bar of California and a Certified Legal Specialist in Taxation law.

During and after law school, Kristen volunteered at the USD Legal Clinics and with the San Diego Volunteer Lawyer Program to provide pro bono services to clients in need with income tax problems. Kristen has worked as a legal intern, law clerk and staff attorney at the USD Legal Clinics, worked as an associate attorney at a tax controversy law firm in San Diego and founded her own tax law firm. As a tax attorney, Kristen worked with some non-profit organizations that inspired her to want to focus solely on non-profit work.
