Topics will include: Types of virtual events; auctions/virtual asks; virtual cost savings vs. traditional events; reaching a larger audience; "table hosting" in the virtual world; red tape--finance and accounting differences; future possibilities; how virtual affects committees, volunteers, and volunteering.

Leigh K. Johnson, MPA
Leigh serves as the Director of Philanthropy for Planned Parenthood South Atlantic. Her role focuses on the major gift program and donor-centric relationships. Her past experience includes Regional Director for Susan G. Komen, Development Director with the Children’s Museum, and several other local and statewide nonprofits, focusing on fundraising and event management.
Leigh has served on the Board of Directors for Cape Fear Literacy Council, Association of Fundraising Professionals, and currently The Women’s Impact Network, a women’s giving circle in New Hanover County.
She has been involved with various events from chairing galas to organizing/operating the Race for the Cure.
She continues to enjoy living in Wilmington, with her husband, their son, and their rescue dog.
In March, Katelyn celebrated her three-year anniversary as the Program Director for the Wilmington, NC non-profit, NourishNC. With a staff of only 3.5 employees, Katelyn wears many hats as Program Director. She coordinates volunteers, communicates with & tracks the families served by their programs, is a liaison with the school social workers, handles all social media, and tracks donor relations (plus a few other things). Her side hustle is as a Wedding Planner and she also serves on the Board of Good Friends of Wilmington. Katelyn is originally from Atlanta, GA, but she moved to NC to pursue her Social Work degree at Appalachian State University. Katelyn was awarded two accolades last year – 40 under 40 and was chosen for the WilmingtonBiz 100’s Rising Stars category.
Ancient Arbor Productions was founded in 2017 by close friends Tyler Simmons and Jacob Barnard. With their combined experience in film, photography, website design, graphic design, and systems, they set out to build a media company to meet the multiple marketing and fundraising needs of their clients.
