Natalie Gupton, Ag Safe's Vice President and Chief Operating Officer, will be presenting a workshop on supporting mental health for development professionals.

Jack Alotto, CFRE:
Diversifying Your Fundraising
Does 80% of your fundraising income come from grants? Does your organization depend on your special events to get the most of your fundraising income? Then it's time to diversify your fundraising campaigns beyond events and grants.

During the pandemic event income could have gone up or down, many nonprofits cancelled events. Foundations and corporations change their fundraising goals focus and who they fund. This workshop will focus on the why and how you can and should diversify your fundraising campaigns to include individual, endowment, capital and planned giving campaigns.

Planned Giving
Every nonprofit organization, no matter the size, should have a Planned Giving program. Planned giving is your organization's way to secure its future. During this hour, we will explore strategies that will help your nonprofit maximize your planned gifts from your donors, what are the benefits to your donors and what are the benefits to your organization of inviting your donors to include your organization in their estate and trust plans.

Amy Wolfe, CFRE, is current Executive Director of American Leadership Forum -- Great Valley.  She has over 20 years of experience in non-profit leadership to share and will be covering the topic of Building Better Boards.

Karen Servas:
Grant Readiness
Improve your grant readiness by learning how to develop "boilerplate" documents used during the grant development process. Join Karen Servas as she guides workshop participants through the steps needed to prepare essential documents and program information commonly requested by grantors. Topics will include organizational background, legal and agency documents, financial information, agency governance, program/project information, and other commonly requested documentation. A Grant Readiness Checklist will be provided to all workshop participants.

Rick Dahlseid, former CFO for Community Hospice will present a workshop on budgeting in post-pandemic times: specifically, budgeting in light of the various pandemic related federal programs such as Emergency Injury Disaster Loans (EIDL), Paycheck Protection Program (PPP), Employee Retention Tax Credit (ERTC), and Shuttered Venue Operator Grants (SVOG).  This presentation is meant to be a session to create more of an understanding of how these programs can impact an agency's budget over the next few years.  Rick will also address the landscape of donor response to the pandemic and how that has impacted giving and special events like galas. Additionally, he will speak to the importance of the relationship between the finance department and development; not only good communication but also good processes between them. There will be time at the end for questions and discussion.

Melissa Van Diepen, CFRE
, the AFP Yosemite chapter president and formerly the Executive Director of Community Hospice Foundation will join AFP Global's Michael Nilsen, Vice President, Marketing, Communications & Public Policy to present a workshop on Public Policy.

Demystifying Advocacy: What is it and how do I fit it into my busy schedule?

Advocacy? Sure, I'd love to see the universal charitable deduction or the IRA charitable rollover provision enhanced and strengthened, and I don't want nonprofit postage rates to climb too high? But I'm also busy as a fundraiser and what do I know about advocacy? Sound familiar? If you want to make sure that government helps-not hinders-fundraising and philanthropy, but aren't sure what you can do about it, join Michael Nilsen, Vice President, Public Policy for AFP and Melissa Van Diepen, AFP Yosemite President and Chief Philanthropy Officer at the Stanislaus Community Foundation, in this fast-paced, back-and-forth discussion about how you can use your skills as a fundraiser to cultivate your elected officials to advance your organization's mission-without taking time away from your daily responsibilities.

Simone Joyaux, ACFRE, AdvDip, FAFP Via AFP Webinar: How Social Justice Fuels Philanthropy. Simone presented this webinar for AFP back in 2016.  Five years later it is perhaps more relevant than ever.

A donor panel including Dillon Olvera, Beard Land Improvement, Kenni Friedman, local philanthropist, and Carol Bright Tougas, Bright Family Foundation, will answer questions about what donors want from non-profit fundraising professionals.

Keynote Speaker: Dr. Lydia Hughes- Evans is the owner of Pure Momentum Consulting,LLC. She supports nonprofit agencies to fine tune their Systems, and empower their Staff.
