Engaging Young Donors Through a Multi-Channel Approach

When and how do you engage with the next generation of donors? How about now! You’re invited to join Amber Flores, Executive Director of Annual and Special Giving and Jessica “JaeJae” Julian, the Associate Director of Alumni Relations from UC Merced as they share their strategy for engaging with and soliciting young donors through a variety of communication channels and experiences.

 

Amber Flores, MFA, CFREAmber Flores, MFA, CFRE is the Executive Director of Annual & Special Giving and Campaign Manager for the University of California, Merced. She leads all aspects of annual giving, oversees the Office of Alumni Relations, and manages UC Merced’s first comprehensive fundraising campaign, Boldly Forward, which aims to raise $200 million by 2030. A native of Turlock, Amber holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Theatre from CSU, Stanislaus and a Master a Master of Fine Arts degree from Wayne State University in Detroit, Michigan. She has been working as a fundraising professional for more than 15 years; is an active member of the Association of Fundraising Professionals, Yosemite Chapter; a Certified Fundraising Professional (CFRE); and was named the “David Barnes Fundraising Professional of the Year” in 2020.

 

Jessica "JaeJae" JulianJessica “JaeJae” Julian is the Associate Director of Alumni Relations at the University of California, Merced. She oversees student and alumni engagement programs, which includes opportunities to connect students to alumni and alumni to their alma mater. She also manages the UC Merced Alumni Association Board, a portfolio of alumni donors, strategies for alumni giving, parent/family engagement and strengthening a culture of student philanthropy. In addition to alumni relations, she has worked for admissions, student services, academic advising, marketing, and communications—gaining a full scope of the student to alumni experience. After graduating from UC Merced, she earned a Master of Arts in Higher Education, Administration and Leadership from Fresno State. JaeJae is a first-generation college graduate, raised in the Central Valley who is passionate about serving her community and region.
