Description

We are back to our regular time of a lunch meeting for this month’s program, when we will hear from Jeremy Jacobsen with the Iowa State Foundation. Priority Initiatives is fundraising unit at Iowa State University that is designed to be a bridge between Annual Giving and traditional Major Gifts by providing a more personalized experience to high level annual giving donors, as well as decrease the length of time between a donor’s first ever annual gift and first major gift to the organization.

Jeremy Jacobsen, Senior Director of Development, leading the Priority Initiatives team at Iowa State University Foundation has 11 years of experience in fundraising. Spending the first 5 years working within Annual Giving, 3 of those years leading the ISU Phone Center, and the next 6 years as a fundraiser that is utilizing both Annual Giving and Traditional Major gift strategies. Jeremy specializes in Leadership Annual Gifts and Mid-level fundraising strategies. Prior to working at the Iowa State University Foundation, Jeremy obtained valuable leadership skills in the Marine Corps with an 8-year enlistment and gained sales techniques as a self-employed Insurance Agent for 10 years.

Jeremy has a B.S. in Business Management, Iowa State University. M.A. in Nonprofit and Philanthropy Development and Certified Nonprofit Professional (CNP) Certificate, University of Northern Iowa. He has been able to put these credentials and passion for fundraising to good use as a leader at the Iowa State University Foundation. Having successfully created and currently leading the fundraising team, Priority Initiates, Jeremy hopes to be a large part of future conversations that continue to reshape fundraising strategies for the modern donor.
