Broken Ladders to Non-Profit Leadership Roles?
Beyond Fundraising to Strategic, Organization-wide Roles
Presented by Kimberly Churches, CEO of AAUW

Current research from McKinsey & Co, Bridgespan, and other sources, along with studies published in Stanford Social Innovation Review & Harvard Business Review, have expanded on the Chief Development Officer role and what skills and competencies are needed to take on CEO and COO roles as well as to partner with those leaders. Kim Churches, CEO of AAUW, will discuss strategic planning, board governance, media and crisis relations, financial leadership, and more as areas fundraisers need to develop in order to move into C-suite positions and to be effective in those roles. Additionally, she’ll share research about the double bind and discrimination some women face in seeking nonprofit leadership roles and solutions to fix the broken ladders to the most senior roles in nonprofits.

This session is approved for 1 CFRE credit.
