Description
Maximizing your relationship within the for profit and nonprofit community.
The Holy Grail in fundraising is to have a consistent revenue stream year after year. Partnering with a for-profit business can bring in substantial dollars. It can also bring challenges. Working with grantmaking Foundations can also provide access to needed funds. Learn how to set your organization apart from the competition.
Join Robin Peters, Executive Director of Firehouse Subs Public Safety Foundation, to learn how to navigate both environments with success and positive outcomes.
Speaker Bio:
As Executive Director, Robin Peters helped establish the Firehouse Subs Public Safety Foundation as a highly respected and effective national non-profit entity. Known as the “heart” of Firehouse Subs, the Foundation provides lifesaving equipment and resources to the communities served by the restaurant chain and beyond through a quarterly grant-making process.
Since her arrival in 2010, Mrs. Peters increased fundraising contributions from $750,000 annually to more than $11 million in 2019. In turn, grant awards to first responder departments as well as public safety organizations rose from 60 to more than 450 per year. Mrs. Peters also worked with the Foundation Board of Directors to expand funding guidelines, allowing allocations to target specific needs such as support for military veterans, specialized firefighting gear and disinfection equipment to help mitigate cancer-causing toxins and community programs to provide safety education to everyday citizens.
Working in the unique position of directing a nonprofit and supporting a national for-profit brand, Mrs. Peters has successfully balanced and navigated the two by working with the Firehouse Subs headquarters staff on creating a culture of philanthropy that is now a part of the Firehouse Subs business model.
