Why DEI and Cultural Competence are Key to Successful Fundraising Efforts

The ability to recognize and effectively respond to cultural differences in communication and conflict styles is critically important within an industry and organization. Please join AFP Palm Beach for an interactive breakfast workshop led by Jamie Beale Howe, CEO of JBH Enterprises, where we will dig deeper into our ability to effectively communicate interculturally and discuss how this can impact our fundraising efforts.

Jamie Beale Howe, CEO of JBH Enterprises

Jamie Beale Howe, MBA, CCIM, CPM, RPA
Qualified Administrator of Intercultural Development Inventory (IDI)
Certified in Intercultural Conflict Styles (ICS)

Ms. Howe has always been an influential voice in strengthening companies' commitment to social citizenship. For previous employers, she sharpened the focus on diversity, equity, and inclusion as co-founder of Diversity Councils, founder of African American Employee Networking Groups, Chair of Women’s Networks, and Chair of corporate United Way campaigns.

Ms. Howe serves as Chair of the Programs Committee for the Palm Beach/Treasure Coast Chapter of CREW (Commercial Real Estate Women), Vice Chair Elect of Women United with the United Way of Palm Beach County, Trustee of Herizon (formerly the Jewish Women's Foundation) and is a member of the women’s executive advocacy organization Women Executive Leadership (WEL). She has been a featured guest speaker on DEI strategies for several organizations and has completed intercultural competence coaching and training for Fortune 50 companies, educational institutions, and non-profit organizations.

Jamie's experience with training business leaders on intercultural competence, coupled with her ability to successfully facilitate implementation of DEI platforms and strategies, has made JBH Enterprises a DEI consultancy of choice for training and coaching. Her engaging personality has made her a sought-after keynote speaker.

Upon registration, you will receive a link to the Intercultural Conflict Style (ICS) assessment, which you must complete prior to the event.

The ICS assessment is intended to:

  • Increase cultural self-understanding of your own communication and conflict resolution approach
  • Increase cultural other-understanding—of diverse approaches others use to communicate ideas and resolve conflict
  • Use culturally responsive strategies in communicating your goals and interests to others
  • More accurately interpret the statements and actions of others

Advanced registration is required. We look forward to seeing you!
