Building and Cultivating an Effective Board– Speaker: Chuck Hamilton

When:  Mar 16, 2021 from 12:00 PM to 01:00 PM (ET)
Associated with  AFP FL, Southwest Chapter

The issue of racial inequity has become the focus of a national conversation in our country over the past year. As nonprofit leaders we play a unique role in bridging societal divides and brokering solutions, so it is essential that we are operating at our best – a responsibility which requires us to be diverse in our board compositions, inclusive in our board cultures, and equity-focused in how our boards see our work (and the world).  In this session we will discuss the importance of this work to our missions, current national data on nonprofit board diversity, and key steps boards can take (regardless of where they are in their racial equity journeys) to become more impactful through a greater commitment to diversity, inclusion, and equity.  We will also share links to tools and resources that boards may utilize for further advancement of their racial equity work.
