The Critical Need to Retain and Cultivate Donors to Create and Sustain a Vibrant Philanthropy Program
One of the most challenging aspects of creating a successful philanthropy program is to rise above the demands of annual giving/special events and find ways to nurture individual donor relationships. The truth is that unless donors have a vibrant connection with your organization, one that deepens over time, they will lose interest and drift away. Achieving major gifts and planned gifts depends of these deep donor commitments. The Donor Pyramid serves as a great model for developing donor connection. Combine this with new approaches to major gift cultivation, the use of specialized volunteers, new models of strategic communications, and innovative affinity clubs, and you have a recipe for success.
In this session, we will explore strategies to reach levels where donors are truly interested, involved, and invested and discuss some successful approaches to keeping the emphasis on deepening donor commitment and achieving the potential of lifetime, transformational giving.
