Recovering from a Mistake …
Facilitated by Athena du Pré', Ph.D., UWF Department of Communication
Make no mistake about it, you will mess up now and then. Perhaps you leave someone important off a guest list or trip over your words and say the wrong thing. It happens! But take heart. The impact of a goof-up depends mostly on what you do afterwards. This presentation explores how to recover from embarrassing missteps while maintaining your integrity, confidence, and dignity.
We will explore:
- The lessons and potential advantages of messing up occasionally
- The difference between acceptable and unacceptable mistakes
- Experts’ advice on what to do after a gaffe to minimize the damage and move forward
Networking and check-in begin at 11:30am, then lunch and the program begin at noon.
