This program will help you maximize your organizations fundraising potential. In this program, we will speak about some of the primary duties of a board, including fiduciary responsibilities, governance, and loyalty. Building a board that is engaged will help the mission stay focused and strong. If a board are strong advocates of the organization, they can more easily avoid complacency and poor decision making. This program will also talk about board recruitment and composition. A recruit matrix will help you define the talent your culture needs. It can also help you communicate the roles and expectations clearly. To build an effective and thriving board this program will discuss the three key areas of board governance: essential effective functions, best practices, and compliance requirements. This program will also address effective fundraising practices. Moving good stewardship to great relationships will enhance fundraising efforts. Board participation with planned giving that supports annual giving, and legacy recognition can strengthen fundraising efforts.

Troy has extensive experience in helping individuals and families accomplish the goals established by their estate and trust planning.  Prior to joining Queensborough National Bank & Trust, Troy spent 12 years with the Medical College of Georgia Foundation and the University Health Care Foundation as the Director of Planned Giving and Chief Development Officer, respectively. In 2008, Troy received the Outstanding Fundraising Professional Award presented by the Central Savannah River chapter of the Association of Fundraising Professionals. Troy has been a Certified Financial Planner for more than a decade. He is the current President of the Augusta Estate Planning Council in addition to being an active member of the Savannah Estate Planning Council. Troy has served as a past member of the Georgia Planned Giving Council and is a Past President of the Board of Directors of Child Enrichment Inc.
