The Context of Ethics and Values in Fundraising with Scott Fortnum

Join us for our next Professional Development Session to take place on December 2nd – Ethics in Fundraising presented by: Scott Fortnum, President & CEO of Children’s Health Foundation.

This session will encourage you to look more broadly at the contextual nature of ethics and the individual nature of values. 

Scott Fortnum, MA, CFRE, ACFRE, is President & CEO of Children’s Health Foundation in London, Ontario and has worked as a professional fundraiser since 1990. As staff and consultant, he has worked with major organizations across Canada, including universities, hospitals, and national non-profits.

Scott has been an instructor at several colleges and universities in Canada and the United States. A frequent speaker throughout North America, he was the first Canadian to earn a Master of Arts degree in Philanthropy and Development from Saint Mary’s University of Minnesota. Additionally, he has a BA in English and Graduate Diploma in Business Administration from Wilfrid Laurier University. He has held the Certified Fundraising Executive (CFRE) designation continuously since 1995 and became the 92nd person to earn the ACFRE designation in 2011, joining the ACFRE Certification Board in 2014 and becoming chair in 2018 through 2020.

Currently, Scott serves on the AFP Canada Board and Governance and Finance Committees, Canada’s Children’s Hospital Foundations Board and Audit and Finance Committee, and the Children’s Healthcare Canada Board.
