The Changing Landscape of Faith and Giving

When:  Oct 6, 2022 from 12:00 PM to 01:30 PM (PT)

Navigating the new world of religious fundraising can be a challenge. But, understanding the changes taking place in the philanthropic and religious landscape can equip us to appreciate our history, understand where we are now, and plan effectively for the future. In this webinar, David P. King, Ph.D. will highlight new data from Giving USA, research conducted by Lake Institute’s National Study of Congregations’ Economic Practices, as well as trends in religious and spiritual identity and individual practices of giving and volunteering.

Presenter: David P. King, Ph.D.

David P. King, Ph.D. is the Karen Lake Buttrey Director of Lake Institute on Faith & Giving and Associate Professor of Philanthropic Studies at the IU Lilly Family School of Philanthropy. As an American religious historian, his research interests broadly include exploring the practices of twentieth and twenty-first century American and global faith communities as well as more specifically investigating how the religious identity of faith-based nonprofits shapes their motivations, rhetoric, and practice.
