September Virtual Coffee Talk: Simply Engaging Your Board in Fundraising

Calling all fundraising professionals! Grab your morning coffee and join us virtually on the fourth Thursday of every month for networking and topic discussions. Each month experts in the field will be on call to lead the topic discussion and answer your questions.

The talk for September is entitled, “Simply Engaging Your Board in Fundraising.” Leading our talk this month is Jennifer Oyer, CFRE, CFRM. 

If you’re like many nonprofit executives and development staff, you’ve seen firsthand the challenges of inspiring your board to fundraise. So, what can you do about it? This session will give you some simple steps to cultivate and train your board members as passionate, successful fundraisers and will help guide you in educating your board on the many, many facets of simply fundraising.

As principal and chief joy officer for Community Impact Advisors, a boutique nonprofit consulting practice based in Honolulu, Jennifer partners with organizations to provide integral and strategic expertise in fund development that impacts their growth and sustainability. Community Impact Advisors empowers nonprofits to make meaningful decisions that increases their capacity to positively impact the community. With nearly 20 years of fund development experience driving strategy, execution, and building incredible teams, Jennifer has partnered with generous donors to raise millions for education, healthcare, and social services across Hawaii.

Jennifer also formerly served on the AFP Aloha Chapter board, currently serves on the board of the AFP Foundation for Philanthropy, and has been a presenter at AFP ICON.
