AFPKC Social - Screwdrivers, Strengths, and Socialization

When:  Mar 10, 2021 from 04:00 PM to 05:00 PM (CT)
Associated with  AFPKC
It's time for the first AFPKC Social of 2021!  At Screwdrivers, Strengths, and Socialization, Courtney Thomas will help us use the Predictive Index to take a look at our strengths, and we will explore how to put those strengths to work for our organizations this year.
The first 10 people to register will get the supplies to make screwdrivers!  A huge thanks goes out to our friends at Tito's Vodka for partnering with us to make the early bird prizes possible, and to Perspective Consulting for providing the Predictive Index Survey.

Our Host:
Courtney Thomas, President and CEO, Newhouse
Courtney is a native of North Carolina and holds a Bachelor of Science in Accounting from Bryan School of Business and Economics at The University of North Carolina at Greensboro. In September of 2002, she moved to Kansas City to serve as a member of the Executive Leadership Team at Wayside Waifs.

Following her successful eight-year tenure at Wayside Waifs to deliver an innovative vision and strategic focus, Courtney led the merger of two Kansas nonprofits to form Great Plains SPCA and served as President & CEO for over six years. Under her leadership, the budget grew by 290% and the mission impact by 350%. She expanded the organization to be the first bi-state animal welfare campus in the country and positioned the organization as a key, national industry leader.

Courtney’s area of expertise has been in business turnaround. In February of 2017, Courtney took the helm at Central Exchange, a professional development organization for women. Within her first eight months, she led a complete organizational revitalization campaign, including a new agency brand and financial turnaround. Within 22 months, she shifted budgeted losses of ($539K) to a positive net income of $75K.

In December of 2019, Courtney joined the team of Newhouse, Kansas City’s first domestic violence shelter, where she serves as President & CEO.
