Jack McGovern, at the young age of 9, has created a philanthropic ripple effect in his community by contributing to the stability, love and support to kids in need. Jack and his family did a “Nine Acts of Kindness Challenge” with one benefitting Cornerstones of Care. In lieu of birthday gifts, Jack requested donations be made for gifts for the youth at Cornerstones. Jack’s kindness caught the attention of KC 102.1 and Commerce Bank, who honored him as the “Kind Kid of the Month.” He donated a portion of his prize money to Cornerstones. His kindness spread to siblings and one $25 gift has grown exponentially. He is an example for all of us, young and young at heart, about kindness, empathy and philanthropy. Jack is a 5th grader with three siblings and proud parents, Kieth and Tara.
