Fostering professional relationships is an AFPKC core value. Our mentoring program pairs those new to the field of fundraising with established fundraising professionals. Each participant agrees to engage in a professional, idea-sharing and coaching relationship for one year.
Mentor Program Objectives:
- Build a stronger, connected nonprofit community by strengthening skills and supporting professional development.
- Providing mentors an opportunity to “pay it forward” by mentoring the next generation of nonprofit leaders.
- Introduce and equip new fundraisers with vital skills and insights.
- Foster encouraging relationships between seasoned development professionals and newer development practitioners.
Both participants must be current AFPKC members. Mentors should have a minimum of five years’ experience as a professional fundraiser. Mentees need to have been in a fundraising role for at least one year to qualify for the program.
