Mentorship Program

Fostering professional relationships is an AFPKC core value. Our mentoring program pairs those new to the field of fundraising with established fundraising professionals. Each participant agrees to engage in a professional, idea-sharing and coaching relationship for one year.


Mentor Program Objectives:

  • Build a stronger, connected nonprofit community by strengthening skills and supporting professional development.
  • Providing mentors an opportunity to “pay it forward” by mentoring the next generation of nonprofit leaders.
  • Introduce and equip new fundraisers with vital skills and insights.
  • Foster encouraging relationships between seasoned development professionals and newer development practitioners.

Both participants must be current AFPKC members. Mentors should have a minimum of five years’ experience as a professional fundraiser. Mentees need to have been in a fundraising role for at least one year to qualify for the program.
