Earning the Certified Fund Raising Executive (CFRE) credential is a significant milestone for fundraising professionals, demonstrating your commitment to ethical practice and professional excellence. This presentation will walk you through the CFRE certification process—from eligibility requirements and the application timeline to preparing for the exam. Attendees will gain valuable insights, practical tips, and proven strategies to help them navigate the path to becoming a CFRE with confidence.

Speakers / Presenters

Rhonda Clay, CFRE is a seasoned fundraising professional with a career spanning over 25 years. With an unwavering commitment to philanthropy, she has shared her expertise with non-profits such as the United Way of Metro Chicago, the University of Tennessee, the March of Dimes, and the Boys & Girls Clubs of the Tennessee Valley and currently the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America as the Director of Major Gifts.  Her strategic approach has significantly impacted those organizations’ fundraising successes.  
 
Beyond her professional achievements, she brings a unique perspective to the fundraising landscape as a lifelong (cradle) Lutheran. With a commitment to making a positive community impact, Rhonda is currently serving as Board Chair for Bridge Refugee Services, Inc., and sits on the boards of the Community Coalition Against Human Trafficking and the Great Smoky Mountain chapter of the Association of Fundraising Professionals (chair of the IDEA committee).  A native of Chicago, Rhonda now resides in East Tennessee with her (Lutheran) husband. She’s a mom to 4 grown children (2 boys and 2 girls) and has 7 grandchildren (6 boys and 1 girl).

Becca Brado, CFRE, brings 18 years of nonprofit fundraising expertise specializing in relationship-centered donor cultivation. With a track record of securing over $1 million and gifts up to $25,000, she serves as Manager of Constituent Engagement at Persevere, building second chances through technology across the justice spectrum. Becca holds an MPA from the University of Alaska Southeast and a Professional Grant Writing Certificate. Her leadership extends to serving as Vice President of Never Alone Recovery, Board Member of the Association of Fundraising Professionals, and Inaugural Member of the TN Nonprofit Network Community Action Council. Based in Knoxville, she channels her passion for community transformation through both professional and volunteer endeavors.
