The Importance of Ethics in Fundraising Practice 11:30 am - Networking 12:00 pm - Lunch & ProgramAs fundraising professionals, ethics play a critical role in our daily decisions. Donors expect ethical behavior. In fact, people continually list organizational transparency as a key factor in making giving decisions. The importance of implementing and practicing ethical fundraising cannot be overstated. In 2017, the University of Louisville Foundation found itself the target of serious accusations and investigations into its fundraising practices. Since then, many reforms have been instituted to correct what had gone awry.In January of 2018, the U of L Foundation named Earl Reed as Chairman. Mr. Reed served as the head of the Foundation audit committee and has been credited as “being integral to the Foundation’s turnaround”. Under his leadership the Foundation has made many positive changes that have begun to restore donor confidence and pointed the Foundation towards a promising future. We are pleased to welcome Earl Reed as our guest speaker to discuss The Importance of Ethics in Fundraising Practice. This promises to be an important conversation that will address such topics as: putting accountability standards in place, identifying indicators of unethical activity and rebuilding donor confidence once it has been compromised.CANCELLATION/REFUND POLICYIn order for AFP Greater Louisville to confirm meals and seating with the venue, cancellations must be received in writing via email by the Thursday before the event/program to be eligible for a full refund.
