AFP Louisville is kicking off our diversity series focusing on disabilities. What is it like for those in the fundraising world to have the same disability as the children, families, and clients they serve? While many of us have passion for the mission of the nonprofits we work for, we often can’t fully relate to the people receiving the services we provide.

For AFP’s September spotlight, we will be visiting local nonprofit, Visually Impaired Preschool Services (VIPS), and hearing from their Preschool Director, Juanita Miles, who has a visual impairment. We will take a tour of the VIPS Preschool to see how learning looks for a child with a visual impairment and hear about Juanita’s experience leading the children at VIPS.
