Director of Strategic Initiatives & Communications – Blue Grass Community Foundation

The Director of Strategic Initiatives & Communications (DSIC) serves as the brand manager of Blue Grass Community Foundation (BGCF) with a focus on elevating the brand and increasing constituent engagement to drive greater generosity and impact. DSIC will forge meaningful partnerships by creatively telling BGCF’s story across all platforms, demonstrating the value of the Foundation to donors, prospective donors and other key audiences and stakeholders. DSIC will supervise the Communications Manager to effectively administer BGCF communication platforms, collateral materials and tools.

DSIC will lead the GoodGiving Challenge and other campaigns designed to enhance community engagement with BGCF and the growth of the Foundation.

DSIC will support the CEO on Foundation strategic initiatives, including those of the Knight Foundation.

DSIC must be a strategic, creative and critical thinker, highly detail-oriented and a self-starter with the ability to set priorities, meet and manage deadlines and budgets in a manner consistent with the mission and philosophy of the Foundation.

DSIC must possess:

  • Impeccable verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong organizational and project management skills
  • High emotional intelligence
  • Proven ability to work independently and collaboratively with a range of internal and external stakeholders
  • Enthusiasm for and knowledge of philanthropy, including community foundations
  • This position requires a high degree of organization, responsibility and productivity, successfully juggling multiple projects in a growing and fast-paced organization.
