The Associates of the Winnipeg Art Gallery are at the heart of Canada's oldest civic art gallery.

This dedicated group of volunteers continues to be instrumental to the development of the WAG, enabling more people in our community to connect with the power of art and art-making. For over 70 years, the Associates have supported dozens of exhibitions, art education programs that today reach over 25,000 students annually, the purchase of more than 2,000 artworks (including the Gallery’s first piece of Inuit art), and donated nearly $1 million. Indeed, the Associates continue to play a crucial part in the WAG’s next exciting endeavour: the construction of the Inuit Art Centre.

The Associates have helped ensure a stable and bright future for the WAG, and that is why they are Manitoba’s Outstanding Foundation or Philanthropic Group.

The Associates of the Winnipeg Art Gallery was nominated for the Outstanding Contributions to Philanthropy (over 100 employees) Award by the Winnipeg Art Gallery and Pam Simmons.
