2020 has been the most extraordinary year in modern history. It has up-ended many things, not of the least of which is how we fundraise. In a one-hour panel discussion, senior fundraisers from three organizations of very different size and purpose will discuss how their organizations are addressing the challenges presented by the pandemic for fundraising in the Broad Base or Mass Market sectors – including, but not limited to, Annual and End-of-Year Appeals. Panelists play leadership roles in fundraising programs that support: an arts & culture organization, a higher education institution, and a human services organization. Most importantly, panelists come from three organizations that are taking very different approaches to mass market fundraising in these uncertain times, including: launching their end-of-year effort earlier than usual, refocusing their “ask,” deploying a fundraising challenge, and calculatedly “going small.”
