IDEA Virtual Town Hall: Owning Your Narrative: The Pretext

When:  Oct 28, 2021 from 02:00 PM to 03:00 PM (ET)

The strength in the “Say Their Names” movement is acknowledging the injustice suffered by the individuals and communities in which Black and Brown lives were cut short due to racism. Words have profound power, and nonprofit organizations lead the charge in telling stories; thus, our words must be chosen carefully.

This discussion revolves around the article, Why Language is Critical to Advancing DEI in the Nonprofit Sector. Through it, we will talk about the importance of institutional history, owning our narrative, the language we use to convey it all, and do our work. Please read the article prior to the meeting and come prepared to share your thoughts.

All are welcome. Please invite your colleagues to join the conversation, too. It’s FREE and open to members and nonmembers alike.  Registration is required and login details will be sent upon registration.
