Tax-Smart Strategies: Great Ideas for the New Tax Environment

When:  Sep 13, 2019 from 11:30 AM to 01:00 PM (CT)

We know tax savings aren’t the main reason people give, but a lot of taxpayers and donors were caught by surprise when they filed their 2018 tax returns. The Tax Cuts and Jobs Act nearly doubled the standard deduction amounts and fewer households were able to itemize their charitable gifts.

Join Mark Gingrich, CPA, J.D. and Amy Sajko, CFRE to discuss recent tax law changes and how they might impact your donors. We’ll review giving options such as Donor Advised Funds, IRA Distributions and more. We’ll also recommend how to discuss these options with your donors and ensure your internal processes are up to date.

A native of Columbia, Mark joined Williams Keepers LLC in 2009 after completing his law degree with high honors at the University of Iowa in Iowa City. He is a graduate of the University of Missouri, where he earned undergraduate degrees in accounting and business administration with emphasis in economics and a master’s degree in accounting.

Amy began her fundraising career in 1996 and has been a Certified Fundraising Executive (CFRE) since 2002. She has a bachelor’s degree in marketing and a master’s degree in business administration with emphasis on finance and non-profit administration. She serves as Director of Individual Philanthropy at Heart of Missouri United Way.
