Is It Time for a Development Audit?

If you can’t measure it, you can’t manage it. This is true for nonprofits as well as for-profits. But nonprofits are unique because their income is often primarily based on fundraising activities. How can you evaluate your development program? There are two methods you should consider—self-evaluation and a development audit.  There are many things you can, and should, evaluate on your own. But sometimes you need outside help and an objective point of view.

In this session led by Linda Lysakowski, ACFRE, we will discuss the methods used in self-evaluation, and when and why you might need a development audit, done by a consultant. Linda will share evaluation tools you can use and explain how a development audit works. We will talk about evaluating every aspect of your fundraising, including ancillary factors--such as board involvement, staffing, technology, and volunteer involvement, among other things.
