Meeting - The Storm BEFORE the Storm: Charity and Public Policy in the Pandemic, Pre-Election World

When:  Sep 30, 2020 from 12:00 PM to 01:00 PM (ET)
Associated with  AFP OH, Northwest Chapter
Presented by Michael Nilsen of the Association of Fundraising Professionals.

Meeting Overview:
A presidential election usually means one thing: almost NOTHING gets done in Congress in the fall session before the storm of November. But this isn't a typical year, and the pandemic has forced Congress to come back and seriously consider COVID-19 relief and other legislation that gives charities an opportunity to push new giving incentives. Expansions of the universal charitable deduction and the IRA Rollover are on the table, but fundraisers and charities are going to need to push these bills hard.  This session will cover a variety of different charity proposals being considered in Congress right now, as well as overview of what lies ahead for fundraising priorities in 2021.
