The Association of Fundraising Professionals Global (AFP Global) has outlined a series of principles and goals in regards to inclusion, diversity, equity, and access (IDEA). One of these principles states that "AFP is committed to inclusion, diversity, equity and access in the selection process and criteria for all staff, volunteer positions, board appointments, committees and working groups."

This principle likely echoes similar goals across our various organizations but it can be hard to know where to begin in terms of creating more equitable and inclusive hiring processes.

In this session, Laura Clark, recruiter and HR professional will outline how to adjust our practices in order to be more inclusive, from posting a position all the way through the interview and onboarding new employees. We hope you will join us!


About Laura Clark:

Laura has experience as a lead recruiter working remotely across multiple industries and over ten years of experience in training and education; six of those include leading teams. Recently, she obtained her SHRM certification and completed the HR Management certificate program through Cornell University.

Previously, she worked in a variety of industries with a focus on building relationships and growing teams. She is passionate about helping individuals develop their skills and watching them transform into leaders within their organizations. She has a Bachelor’s degree from the University at Buffalo in International Studies and a Master’s degree from Elmira College in Education.
