Job Position:  Program Officer, Grantmaking – The Raymond John Wean Foundation
Salary:  $62,000 annually

organizations whose leadership reflects the racial demographics of the communities in which
they work.

Key Responsibilities
Grantmaking
• Coordinate grantmaking lifecycle, including application and proposal review, synthesis
   of background and follow-on information for analysis, recommendation, and evaluation.
• Guides grantseekers and grantees through electronic platforms.
• Manage grassroots grantmaking programs.
• Monitor assigned grants, track outcomes and partner with nonprofits as they implement
   funded projects or programs.
• Organize learning visits.
• Support annual portfolio review and assist in the development of strategies.
   Capacity Building and Development
• Coordinate with community partners and internal colleagues to integrate a learning and
   capacity building agenda (assessment of organizational leadership, strategy and impact)
   into grantmaking programs.
• Support development and coordination of learning opportunities.
• Provide technical assistance, as appropriate.
   Organizational Learning and Dissemination Priority
• Maintain board and in-depth knowledge and understanding of needs, issues, trends, best
   practices, innovations, and values of the community.
• Track desired racial equity goals and indicators.
   Community Engagement
• Develop and maintain visibility and accessibility in the community and the sector.
• Conduct inclusive outreach and recruitment.
• Nurture new and maintain existing relationships with community stakeholders partners.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field or the equivalent trade-related education 
   and/or experience to fulfill the position's responsibilities.
• Has knowledge of and/or committed to develop expertise in:
• Technical areas of grantmaking and the operational areas of administration,
   finance and governance.
• At least three years of experience executing and overseeing all aspects of assigned
   projects, including monitoring the progress of projects and providing periodic status and
   final disposition.
• At least three years of professional work in philanthropy or nonprofits is highly valued.

Expected hours: 40 hours per week
Non-traditional hours will be required including some evenings and weekends

Starting salary: $62,000 annually

Travel: Occasional travel may be required

Schedule: Tuesday-Friday

led organizations. This position will report into the Senior Director of Programs and Operations.

Key Responsibilities
Capacity Building, Including Incubator Associates
• Lead efforts with community partners and internal colleagues to integrate a learning
   and capacity building agenda (assessment of organizational leadership, strategy and impact)
   into grantmaking programs.
• Identify tools appropriate for assessing organization leadership, strategy and impact.
   Track sustainability and growth of organizations.
• Identify and coordinate learning opportunities, including Race, Equity & Inclusion (REI).
   Survey beneficiaries on the usefulness of training. Track awareness, learning, and
   practice.
• Identify, recruit and vet providers who are representative of the communities in which
   we work.
• Design process for identifying and onboarding Incubator Associates. Develop a
   customized plan (onboard to exit) for each organization. Facilitate relevant connections.
   Implement strategies (mentoring, coaching, peer support) to bolster social connections
   and support.
• Manage the lifecycle, assessment to evaluation, of the Capacity Building Program,
   including the Capacity Building (CB) Fund.
• Coordinate efforts to provide “value-add” resources.
• Provide technical assistance, as appropriate.

Grantmaking
• Contribute to the grantmaking lifecycle, including application and proposal review,
   synthesis of background information and follow-on information for analysis and
   recommendation.
• Guide grantseekers and grantees through electronic platforms.
• Support annual portfolio review and assist in the development of strategies.
   Organizational Learning and Dissemination Priority
• Maintain broad and in-depth knowledge and understanding of needs, issues, trends, best
   practices, innovations, and values of the community, non-profit, government and business
   sectors.

Requirements

Assistant Director

Summary of Position

Assists director in all areas of station operations, including in programming, radio operations, production, engineering, underwriting, marketing, events, educational services and general office administration. Directs and coordinates classical music programming for station. Produces and hosts a classical music program. Manages volunteer and student classical music announcers. Maintains classical music library. Coordinate fundraising and promotional events. Assist development coordinator and associate director as needed.

Position Information

Carries out general policies established by the director.

 

Hosts daily classical music program for WYSU-FM radio, including presentation and delivery of regular live on-air breaks. Monitors quality of broadcast signal. Maintains transmitter and program logs.  

 

Prepares music schedule and commentary for daily classical music program and enters information regarding daily listings in music schedule program. 

 

Interviews representatives of regional fine arts organizations.

 

Recruits and supervises volunteer classical music producers and hosts. Oversees on-air presentation of classical music programming.

 

Supervises staff involved in on-air pledge drives. 

 

Assists director and development coordinator in donor cultivation.

 

Works with development coordinator to develop on-air listening and membership promotional campaigns.

 

Assists development coordinator in planning and organizing on-air membership campaigns.

 

Plans, organizes, and coordinates special fundraising and promotional events for audience and members, including concerts, member parties, and meet and greet events., and educational events.

 

Assist associate director in programming and program operations, including providing input in general programming decisions.

 

Available to locally host network news program.

 

Other Functions and Responsibilities: Performs other related duties as assigned.

 

Equipment Operated: Computer and all other standard office equipment.

 

Work Schedule: Typically, M-T-W-Th-F 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
