About Dianne Spencer
After 30+ years of experience in Post Secondary Advancement, Dianne retired from a full-time role as Executive Director, College Advancement and External Relations at Loyalist College, where her responsibilities encompassed all areas of variety of advancement: fundraising and development, marketing and communications, alumni and donor relations, advocacy, community, government and media relations. Her career in Advancement began with a role in Communications and Media.
Since retiring from full-time employment she has enjoyed developing a consulting practice to support individuals and teams with a focus on coaching individuals to help them succeed. She completed a Graduate Certificate in Executive Coaching from Royal Roads University in June 2020.
Dianne has remained active in the AFP network, helping as a facilitator of webinars and Chapter Planning discussions. She continues to provide counsel and mentorship to colleagues through the AFP and other networks. She has also enjoyed the opportunity to become more involved as a volunteer in community initiatives, and currently chairs the Board of Gateway Community Health Centre in Tweed, Ontario.
In June 2018 she was presented with the Outstanding Achievement Award from the CCAE (Canadian Council for the Advancement of Education). This annual Award is presented to a recipient selected from colleges, universities and independent schools across Canada, in recognition of “extraordinary contributions to educational advancement in Canada and dedicated mentoring of other professionals in the advancement field”.
In November 2023 Dianne was honoured to be recognized as the “Outstanding Fundraising Professional” in Southeastern Ontario, as part of the National Philanthropy Day Awards program organized by AFPSEO.
