Creating a solid charitable donation strategy
- a Financial Advisor's Perspective
Charitable Giving from a Financial Advisor’s Perspective
Jane Lapointe, CPCA has over 25 years of experience in advising individuals and families about financial matters with a central goal of creating a financial sanctuary. This sanctuary provides financial peace of mind to her clients by combining the principles of sound financial advice with a deep and measured understanding of the individual and their needs. Jane moved to Kingston in 1985 to attend Queen’s University and quickly fell in love with the warmth and vibrancy of the city she now calls home. She originally joined Fenlon Financial in 1996. The firm became Assante Financial Management Ltd. in 2001. Jane became a partner in 2010.
Emma Fitzgerald, BAH (ECON) MBA was born and raised in Kingston where she completed her undergraduate degree at Queen's University and her Master in Business Administration at the Royal Military College of Canada. Emma has completed research and statistical analysis during her academic years in a variety of different areas including Financial Crises, Social Science and Managerial Accounting. Emma has been working at Assante Financial Management Ltd. since 2016.
Together, Jane and Emma work with clients to help them execute their charitable intentions in a way that is meaningful for the client and the charity. In their years of experience, they find that many donors do not have a plan in place for their charitable giving strategy. This lack of planning does a disservice to both the donor and the charity.
There are a combination of factors and people that go into creating a solid Charitable Donation Strategy and this presentation will explore how it all comes together.
