Nominations

AFP Philanthropy Awards celebration presents the opportunity to recognize leadership in philanthropy and volunteerism, and to pay tribute to those whose inspiring accomplishments have enriched our communities.  Nominees who have impacted non-profit organizations in Oregon and Southwest Washington are eligible. The selections will be made in May and presented at the Philanthropy Awards Luncheon on November 12, 2019 at the Portland Hilton Hotel.

The nominations deadline is April 15, 2019. All nominations received before March 31 will be entered in a drawing for a free table of 10 at the Philanthropy Awards luncheon.

Award Categories

Vollum Award for Lifetime Philanthropic Achievement recognizes individuals who have tirelessly committed themselves to bettering their community through serving, funding and enlisting support for a range of community charitable causes.

Outstanding Philanthropist(s) pays tribute to exceptional donors who generously provide a lead gifts or substantially assist nonprofit organizations with their philanthropic leadership.

Outstanding Volunteer Fundraiser is presented to a special volunteer who motivates others to give, commits time and energy without compensation and provides talent for strategy, relationship enhancement and the successful solicitation of donations.

Outstanding Philanthropic Corporation recognizes a community-minded corporate citizen that, through their foundation, corporate giving program, or employees, commits significant resources to assist organizations in meeting community needs.

Outstanding Philanthropic Foundation recognizes a community grantmaking organization that offers encouragement and motivation to nonprofits and grantmakers while supporting nonprofit organizational goals.

Outstanding Volunteer Group recognizes that volunteers are the lifeblood— they start, support and/or enhance the programs and services that organizations provide and can make the difference in an organization being able to serve its community.

Youth in Philanthropy celebrates young people (college or younger) who have improved the community and increased opportunities for others through direct financial support, development of charitable programs, volunteering and leadership in philanthropy.

Outstanding Innovative Project recognizes groups’ exceptional innovation and creativity resulting in community impact by increasing awareness and public understanding.

Allan Price Award for Lifetime Service to the Fundraising Profession recognizes fundraising professionals who demonstrate exceptional skill and enthusiasm for their work, who pursue big ideas and successfully engage others in achieving them, and who inspire new levels of giving among donors
