Keynote Presentation with Laura Otten: Understanding the Philanthropic Zeitgeist

When:  Nov 13, 2020 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM (ET)
Associated with  AFP PA, Eastern Chapter
Keynote Description
Anyone who has responsibility for fundraising has struggled with trying to understand what drives philanthropy at any given time. just as nonprofits don’t operate in a vacuum, most donors don’t give in a vacuum. Organizations that fail to observe the philanthropic landscape and respond to what is going on in their community and in society-at-large, undermine their own fundraising prospects. campaigns that don’t mesh with reality, that fail to address trending concerns, that don’t respond to the ebbs and flows of cultural and societal influences, limit the odds of meeting fundraising goals.
As we face the next emerging generation of philanthropists, how can we prepare to position ourselves to respond to future shifts? This Keynote presentation looks at the current status of the sector in the context of how reality, whether real or perceived, is influencing funding decisions and how you can up your philanthropic radar to find the best matches, and make connections and position your organization for the future.
