Fundraising & Ethics: Sources of Funding - Does it Matter?

When:  Oct 19, 2022 from 08:30 AM to 10:00 AM (PT)

Ethical considerations are vital for fundraisers and leaders in nonprofit organizations. AFP members aspire to practice their profession with integrity and honesty to safeguard public trust and act according to the highest goals of their organizations. Yet, we sometimes face challenges related to gifts or donor requests that may challenge the values of the organizations we serve.

Our guest speaker Rick Wayman is a dynamic leader and experienced nonprofit professional featured in national and international media. At this workshop, Rick will offer practical tips for establishing the organization’s internal investment policies and discuss gift acceptance considerations such as oil company money.

About our Presenter:

Rick Wayman is CEO of the Foundation for Climate Restoration (F4CR), which is working to return atmospheric greenhouse gases to pre-industrial levels. Rick brings over 15 years of experience in leadership positions in socially responsible startup businesses, nonprofit organizations and international networks. He was part of the core civil society team at the United Nations that negotiated the Treaty on the Prohibition of Nuclear Weapons in 2017, an achievement for which the campaign received the Nobel Peace Prize that year.
